About Sarawak




Above is the picture of Sarawak map, and from that we can clearly see that, Sarawak is very large. Sarawak is one of two Malaysian states on the island of Borneo. It is most famous known as Bumi Kenyalang which is the land of hornbills. Sarawak is located on the northwest of the island, bordering the Malaysian state of Sabah to the northeast, Indonesia to the south, and surrounding Brunei. It is the largest state in Malaysia.The administrative capital is Kuching. Sarawak get their independence on 22 July 1963 and joined with Malaya, Sabah and Singapore to form Malaysian on 16 September 1963. Sarawak is known to international visitors primarily because of the extraordinary natural wonders of its national parks, including Gunung Mulu, the Niah Caves, and Bako. Sarawak's cultural treasures are also fascinating, reflecting the influence not only of the state's many ethnic peoples.
