Ethnic In Sarawak

There are seven major ethnic in Sarawak. it is includes of Iban, Chinese, Malay, Melanau, Bidayuh, Orang Ulu, Orang Penan.



IBAN

First of all, I would like to talk about Iban people. Iban people usually live in a simple condition as they are still live in a traditional ways. Besides that, most of the Iban people are Christian. In addition, they are still doing some traditional rituals in their daily life.



CHINESE

Second is Chinese. What can i say, when i visit Sarawak, I can see that there is a lot of Chinese in Sarawak. Most of Chinese people are very good in business. They have their own business and they are very struggle in making their business success. 



MALAY

Third is Malay. There are only 23% of Malay in Sarawak. As we know that Malay are majority in any country but not in Sarawak.



MELANAU

Next is Melanau. The Melanaus have been teach to be along with the original people of Sarawak. The communities of Sarawak are comes from Islam and Christian.



BIDAYUH

Most of the Bidayuhs talk in various language but still related dialects. They will speak either in Sarawak Malay or English as their main language.



ORANG ULU

Lastly, Orang Ulu is an ethnic group in Sarawak. The variety of Orang Ulu ethnics mutually make up approximately 6% of Sarawak's residents. The word Orang Ulu means upriver nation and the phrase used to collectively potray the several tribes that live upriver in Sarawak.



PENAN

The Penan are a nomadic indigenous people living in Sarawak and Brunei. Half of them have been converted to Islam. In addition, Penan are one of the last such peoples remaining as hunters and gatherers.
